Change broken Touch Flex Cable for MacBook Pro 15 inch A1707?

I changed the cable following a YouTube guide. I’m sure it’s installed the right way. MacBook starts up with a symbol of a mouse and then a keyboard (?) and nothing else happens. Please advice…

Your system can’t see the keyboard or trackpad. Did you forget to plug the ribbon cable in?

If you have a USB keyboard and mouse/trackpad with the needed USB TO USB-C adapter or hub you should be able to get your system running. So at least isolate the issue.

Thank you for taking your time to reply. Im pretty sure that the cable is inserted correctly in both ends. I removed and installed it a couple of time with the same result. I really don’t know what to do?

@jtgjrsxtke2qqz - Did you test it using an eternal keyboard and mouse? You need to validate the system will see the internal USB hub which supports the internal keyboard and trackpad.

I tried with a PC mouse (with cable), I have no extra keyboard. It still shows the Mac mouse and the keyboard looking thing. Also the mouse pointer doesn’t move even with the PC mouse.

@jtgjrsxtke2qqz - That doesn’t sound good, I think you need to find a Mac repair shop to help you here.
