TCL Mirror image after replacing main board

My TCL 55 inch went black and I replaced the mainboard with an identical match. Fired right up after replacing but now it has split screen with mirror image. Tried resets etc... but it persists.

Here are a couple of pictures of the board that failed & then the replacement board I put in.

It is a TCL 55S403

Update (05/12/23)

Here is the back and the termination into the T con board. Someone in another thread mentioned something about needing to adjust the screen ID in the hidden menu screen? Not sure if that is legit or not?

Update (05/12/23)

Did some more digging. When I go to "about" the tv this is the information that comes up. My model is 55S403 but it is showing 65S401 now since I had put in that new board. The new board had all the same specs as my old board & the sellar claimed they are compatible, but maybe that isn't correct?

@dwinn post some GOOD pictures of the board you replaced. What is the exact model of your TCL TV?

by

updated info below. Thanks!

by

@dwinn Lets see the board where the ribbon cable from the main board terminates to, as well.

by

@dwinn I tought about that too. Maybe a firmware update etc. but can't find any documentation on that. Check your Settings menu and see if there is anything odd about the video settings. See if your TV has PIP, P&P, or Twin Display mode. If so, turn that off.

You wouldn't have a spare T-con board laying around? ;-)

by

Unfortunately I don't have a spare t-con board. Might grab one next week just to try it out. My settings only have brightness adjust under video settings. Nothing about auto adjust rate or anything like that.

@dwinn check your menu. Try Settings==>System and see if if you have an auto adjust refresh rate. Disable the auto adjust.

I found a likely solution for you. I believe the board you bought is compatible but not configured for your exact model. Read this info and give the solution a try. Good luck!
