Information about screw torque

Are there any information available about the correct torque to use for the Steam Deck screws? It seems Steam Support is directing to iFixit, which lacks information to this detail. I am particularly interested in knowing the torque for the 9.5 and 5.8 mm back plate screws, the 3.4 mm SSD screw, the 3.4 and 3.7 mm board shield screws, the 5.2 mm trigger bracket and thumb stick screws, and the 5.2 and 3.9 mm screws for the button boards.

When it comes to the specific torque values for the screws on the Steam Deck, there is limited publicly available information regarding the recommended torque settings. While Steam Support may direct users to iFixit for disassembly guides and general repair information, the detailed torque specifications for individual screws are not always provided.

In cases like this, it is generally recommended to apply a moderate level of torque when tightening screws. It's important to use the correct screwdriver or bit that fits the screw head properly to avoid damaging the screw or stripping it. It's also advisable to tighten the screws gradually and evenly, using a diagonal or crisscross pattern to ensure even pressure distribution.

When tightening the screws, pay attention to the feel of the screw turning and stop tightening once you feel resistance or when the screw is secure. Applying excessive force can potentially damage the components or strip the threads. It's better to err on the side of caution and use a gentle to moderate tightening force to ensure the screws are adequately secured without causing any harm.

If you're uncertain about the appropriate torque values for specific screws on the Steam Deck, it may be helpful to reach out to Steam Support directly for more detailed guidance. They can provide you with the most accurate information and recommendations for safely assembling and disassembling your device.
