Fingerprint sensor not working

I just replaced the screen on my Google pixel 6 and when I try to use the fingerprint sensor it says fingerprint setup timed out. Any idea how to fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@kristentracey Did you recalibrate with the new sensor after it was replaced?

No, I'm not sure how to do that.

@kristentracey To recalibrate your fingerprint reader, go to https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps (Note: You will need to visit this website via Google Chrome or a Chromium-Based browser like Microsoft Edge). Follow the instructions on the screen on the Pixel phone you replaced the fingerprint reader on, then connect to the phone to your computer with a USB cable. Now click the "Connect Phone" button. If the connection is successful, one of the options available should be to recalibrate your phone's fingerprint reader. Let me know if you need any additional assistance.

@kristentracey You're welcome

Saved me too thanks! Phone tech said only way to fix was to solder in the old scanner so it matched the phone.

@steverubbert Yes, thankfully Google offers this option. With Apple, you can't replace your home button and regain Touch ID without going into an Apple store.
