I am going to assume this is either a brand new or functioning tablet.

Are you able to confirm on the tablet that you see available wifi networks?

If not, it's an issue that requires tech support from HP due to a software issue. Might have to hard-reset the unit to original factory settings. In fact, you might have to do this in either case. If they already did this, either the unit is defective or it's your network.

If you are able to see available wifi networks than try one of the following:

1. Confirm your home network works by testing another computer/laptop etc that has a known working wifi adapter.

2. If other computers work, change the settings on your router so that you are broadcasting your SSID without encryption of any kind (temporarily, of course) and re-test your tablet.

3. Make sure your router isn't setup to only allow certain mac addresses and that it is able to produce enough IP addresses to accommodate your tablet.

4. Go to another location where there is free wifi (that does not require page redirects or passwords) and test it.

If all these suggestions still fail to connect you to the internet, once done, call HP support back and advise of each step so they can assist.

Again, you may have to do a hard reset or bring the unit back to factory settings.
