two parts by the harddrive connector
When you open an ipod video, you see two blue parts by the hardrive connector. If one is not there, would that cause any problems to the ipod?

If you are talking about the two (one on each side) blue rubber bumpers (step 10 of this guide) , they are there to prevent the hard drive from dislodging sideways and causing any damage to the HDD cable or the coils. I have not had any issues with having left one out. They are avialable at places like this. Hope this helps, good luck.
