Hi @eric27347,

Is this the same laptop as asked in your other question before or a different one?

If the same which is the correct model number?

If a different one see my answer to your other question regarding how to find the schematics

Hi @eric27347

Again I can't find free downloads but here's a supplier where you can buy it cheap enough (cheapest I could find anyway) if you can't find a free download.

Hi Jayeff,

Any TVM file viewer recommended?

@eric27347

Are you looking at the boardview or the schematic?

Usually schematics are pdf files

Never had to open a TVM so I don't know.

Usually the schematic will tell you what components are in the backlight power path. You just look for the LVDS (or eDP) video cable connector in the schematic to find where the backlight power connects on which pins of the connector and work your way back to the power supply for the backlights.

It may be a fuse or if there isn't one it may be powered directly from a power mosfet.

There is usually backlight power on the video cable connector (LVDS or eDP) "all the time" and it is turned on and off in the LCD panel, by a signal on the backlight enable lead (usually marked as BK_Enable or similar on the schematic)
