2010 MacBook Pro 17" Logic Board in 2009 MacBook Pro 17"? Possible?

I have a few 2009 MacBook Pro 17 inch laptops and I came across a Logic Board for the 2010 MacBook Pro 17..

As the 2009 MBPs have Core 2 Duo and the one from 2010 has i5.. is it possible to put a 2010 MBP Logic Board in a 2009 MBP?

I know there were questions about this but HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY accomplished this? I also have a broken 2011 17" MacBook Pro but besides the C2D ==> Core_i5 upgrade, the other main goal is not to fry or break the 2010 Logic Board... :D ..that's why I'm asking.

I've heard about Airport card, Bluetooth and iSight camera incompatibilites but none of these are important.

PS: Of course I know it is "generally not advised", I'm just curious if someone ever had success with such "upgrade".

Thanks.

Most of us keep like for like when it comes to repairing, mod’ing is a bit of a grey space.

The best you can do is make a good study of the systems side by side to see what’s different. It can be when a given cable connects it’s even possible the cable uses a different connector. The logic board mounts and fans may not align. As well as other variables.

I doubt anyone has done this and if they had it was years ago and not something they are likely to remember.

If you had asked me if a 2012 15” logic board would fit into a 2011 15” I would tell you that was possible but a few adjustments need to be made. I don’t remember ever doing anything other than early/late 2011 17” boards and cases.

Thanks. I think I'll just find the rest of the necessary parts to finish the mid-2010 MBP.
