I need to control the fan after HD swap TIGER 10.4

I know many apps such as macfanscontrol and smcfan control etc.

Nothing is compatible with Tiger ,which cannot be changed on this elderly senior citizen of a mac

The fan is running full pelt ,because the thermostat is no longer connected

Please I need a solution before giving it back to my customer

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Did you follow this guide iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210 Hard Drive Replacement? You needed to recover the drives sensor to put it back in. I hope you still have it otherwise you’ll need to get a replacement. Here’s one source TheBookYard - iMac Alu 20" Temp Sensor, Apple P/N 922-8196

I found a copy of SMC fan control that is compatible with OS Tiger

So thanks for your reply

The drive I installed isn't compatible with a thermostat , otherwise I would have put it back in.

The sensor plugs into the logic board. The sensor is just stuck onto the drive. You do realize your systems SMC logic is still in CPU Safe Mode as the sensor signal is missing. Yes, you can alter the fans RPM but that doesn’t solve the root issue and besides as SMC is not controlling the fans RPM your cooking your system!

One more shoe to fall here! This series SATA interface can only support SATA II (3.0Gb/s) most drives today run at SATA III (6.0Gb/s). Make sure the drive is compatible if it doesn’t list SATA II (3.0Gb/s) you’ll need another drive.
