No sound out or record. Pauses after a couple seconds.

My iPod touch will not play music or videos nor will it record. When I try to play a song or video, it goes to play for a couple of seconds and then pauses. The same thing happens when I try to record a voice note.

Using earphones does not alter the symptoms. I have performed a system restore and reboot.

These symptoms occurred after replacing the LCD/digitizer. During the repair, I broke the blue wire on the speaker. I repaired the connection and the unit worked until I reassembled it. I now have the symptoms described above.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Alan Trulock, just wondering how you fixed the wire and if you double checked your repair.

Interesting. I've got the same problem with an iPod I did a charge port replacement on. I've done many of these, and I always remove the speaker before replacing the port. I've never had an issue before, but this time the iPod seems to have no sound, and it's pausing automatically after trying to play for a few seconds. I've tried two other speakers (used but should be good), and tried using the headphones as well as disconnecting the headphone jack. Always acts the same. Anyone have any thoughts?
