iPhone4 broke home button connector. any fix for this?

iPhone 4 Home Button Replacement

On Step 31, I broke the connector. After I did, I saw you could expand the page and there are notes. Several ohter people had the same problem. What do I do?

if it is only the black flip catch then see if the phone works with just the flex installed..you never know your luck! Otherwise you will need to purchase the dock connector which has that connector on it.

thank you! should i tape it down?

it should stay in without tape. the catch provides pressure to push the flex onto the pins, i've had these type of connections work well without tape or the catch. try it and see.
