When I removed the ZiF cable of the socket on my Macbook Pro Late 13 it became destroyed. Can this be repaired like soldering a new ZIF socket on the cable or can the Macbook function with one Fan if not.

Hey, WeDoIt

The 2013 MacBook Pro can usually function with one fan, if you run low to medium difficulty tasks. I'd suggest trying it with Apple Diagnostics open. If temperatures reach a high level, I'd suggest putting a new ZIF socket in and making sure both fans are working.

Guess I need both fans as I use high performance task though. But do you recommend to sold a new ZIF socket on and do you have any experience ?

@wedoit

I don't have a mountain of experience, but I can work my way around a soldering station. I recommend to solder a new socket, but if you aren't comfortable or experienced in it yourself, you may want to take it to a shop instead of risking it.

I found a freind who can sold it. Do you know which and ehere to buy the ZIFSocket ( EU )

by

I guess just buying 1 piece of ZIF-socket is not possible as the vendors only sell 100 as orders. Do'es anyone know if there is an alternative. Like take this unit from another piece of electronic hardware like a hairdryer or similar something ?
