What fan? Case fan, CPU cooler, GPU, etc?

Hi @denino,

What is the make and model number of the PC or the make and model number of the motherboard and GPU card if a custom build?

by

System fan error it says 90B https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c0...

I have checked and I can see that all the fans are spinning so I am unsure as to why this is happening. Originally the error message was Pump fan error, so I changed the fan myself to an NZXT Pump fan and then the error switched to system fan.

The pc is a Omen HP Desktop PC

Model No: 880-028na

@jayeff Do you have any idea on what the problem is? And can it be solved?

Hi @denino

What do the HP PC hardware diagnostics say? See p.42 of the user manual

Have you tried resetting the BIOS to default settings by performing a power refresh?

Turn off the PC and disconnect the power from the PSU.

Open the desktop and remove the RTC coin cell battery from the motherboard. With the battery out, measure its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC replace it. The type number is printed on the battery CR2032 perhaps.

Press and hold the Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

Reinsert the RTC battery (+ve on top as marked on the battery)

Reassemble the desktop and reconnect the power to the PSU and turn the PC on and check.

If it works OK there may be a message about the date and time being wrong. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset. Once you adjust the D&T it won't occur the next time the PC is started. Also if any user defined setting in BIOS were changed to suit whatever operating requirements you had, they will have to be changed back again as well.

If still no good then the schematics for the motherboard would be needed. What is the make and model number of the motherboard as printed on the board itself?
