After DIY glass/LCD repair white horizontal lines have appeared?

I just finished replacing my glass/ lcd on my iphone 3gs. I feel that I followed the youtube directions to a tee but when I turned it on the screen had its normal picture of my apps in the background but it now has a white translucent color with white stripes on the foreground. I don't know if I did something wrong or if my glass/ lcd screen I purchased is faulty. Can anyone shed any light on this? I have also unplugged and replugged the 1, 2, and 3 ribbons.

Good chance that it is defective, OR you caused some damage to the LCD when you were removing/disassembling the screen. Are there any hotspots or discoloration on the LCD while the display is off?

There are no hotspots or discoloration except the overall faded look. What do you mean by display?

By display I mean the capability on whether the LCD can show a picture. If there is no visible damage to the display (imagine the phone off) then it probably is a defective LCD. Get another one and test.

I replaced the glass/digitizer not the lcd. So I just ordered the lcd screen and will change it out and see if that is the problem. Thanks.

chack the connector\flat cable might have torn-up or either the lightning prossesor need to be replaced

its a physical part on the circuit board i will need to find the schematics for the iphone 3gs to help so give some time...
