Sapphire glass camera replacement

Hi everyone! My girlfriend broke her camera lens only two days after having her new iPhone, so I'm looking for the best possible replacement. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a sapphire glass lens. Where can I find it? I live in Italy but I would be willing to order it from any other country.

I was also wondering what's the best glue I can use. I replaced my iPhone 6s lens many times and I never found the pre-applied double-side tape that effective: it doesn't seem to adhere that well and it makes the camera stick out too much. Is the T-8000 the best option? And do you have any advice on how to apply it in the best way? I want to prevent any water to get inside.

Thank you so much in advance! I hope you're having a nice day.

Erik

Hi Erik

Here’s a link to some lenses that claim to be sapphire

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324766527523?...

Also here’s a video guide for the replacement

Also as far as I know the best glue would be E6000

Here’s a link to that

E6000 Adhesive Glue

The best way of applying this glue would be to remove all the leftover glass and glue from the slot then clean with isopropyl alcohol to ensure it will bond and set nicely:-)

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)

Hi! Thank you so much for the exhaustive answer.

Unfortunately, that eBay seller doesn’t ship to Italy. I kinda gave up because I looked everywhere and the only ones I found are shipped from China and can take up to two months to be delivered. There’s a crack all across the lens, which makes it impossible to take a good picture, so I need to replace it soon.

As far as the glue, what’s the difference between the E6000 and the T8000?

I usually order from China and those work perfect. If you can't find anything, i can send you one from The Netherlands including the prepared dubble sided tape, This way you don't need the glue.

DO remove the backcamera, otherwise the lens will be scratched!

@erikchimello

From what I know T8000 and E6000 seem to be pretty similar

I would use the E6000 because it’s more well known but it’s up to you:-)

If you don’t want to order a lens from china because of the wait you could always order a new housing for the phone as they will come with a new lens:-)
