Steam Deck won't connect to dock after ssd upgrade

I bought my 1tb ssd upgrade kit and after competing the replacement my steam deck won't connect to my ivoler dock any more.

The deck still charges fine but usb c drives aren't recognized and connecting to a pc just charges the deck, the pc won't recognize the deck either.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

The SSD change should not really affect the device's ability to connect to the dock. My thought would be that possibly during the replacement process some part of the dock connection circuitry was damaged, the fact that it still charges but doesn't connect to any devices means that maybe the data connection lines are damaged but the power lines are still intact.

It may also just be a software issue that can be fixed with an update or a restart.

Thanks for your response

The deck is completely up to date so I doubt there's a software issue

As far as the data connection lines go, would there be any way for me to identify then repair that issue?

sorry i didnt get back to you earlier. I think the easiest thing would be to first visually inspect the pins on the dock and on the steam deck if that is possible and see if any are off colored, because that could indicate corrosion or something else not right. otherwise you would probably want to inspect the connections (probably a ribbon cable), that connects the port on the bottom of the steam deck to the main motherboard. It might also be directly soldiered onto the board, in which case as long it visually looks okay, the repair would be far more difficult.

Hope that helps!

@perffreeman your computer etc. may not recognize that your Deck is connected. There maybe no OS on it to be recognized. Remember that "You will need additional software tools and procedures to install an OS and get the replacement SSD to function as intended.

Follow Valve's Steam Deck recovery instructions to recover, repair, or re-image your Steam Deck's SSD with SteamOS. For installing Windows, official resources can be found here." from here

I followed this guide and restored steam os on the deck via a micro sd chip
