Re-install Mojave and get stuck at Apple log and progress bar

Hi champs,

I re-install Mojave os on my macbook by recovery internet mode, I also erase the ssd. Everything is fine until it is restarted and the black screen with Apple log display, the progress bar said "About 11 minutes remaining" for more than 10 hours.

you need to open the laptop and unplug the battery then plug it back in.

and then try to intall with your usb again (and if mojave doesn't work, try things like chrome os flex or unbuntu and see if they work)

then if that doesn't work, comment on this and ill try to help you lol

@timtomissus Thanks for you response.

I tried to unplug all accessories and reinstall mojave but no luck.

My macbook has non-removable battery so I cannot try this case.

Additional, after re-installing by recovery internet, then I tried to re-install by external HD again, so my macbook prompts the message said "Security settings do not allow this mac to use an external startup disk". And I tried to change this setting by going in recovery mode but at this point admin permission is required and it could not find any admin account. So I cannot change the security setting as well as install chrome os or ubuntu os.

Currently, I re-install Mojave by recovery internet and my macbook is still stuck at the black screen with Apple log and progress bar said "About 11 minutes remaining".

Looking forward for your help. Thank you.

@trungtran80400 i know the battery is non-removable, that was really a worst case scenario lol, but it may need to happen MacBook Pro 15" Touch Bar 2018 Battery Replacement

do not take the battery out just remove the connectors from everything that is shown in the guide above, and then put all the connectors back.

is your mac under warranty or has apple care?

im assuming you can't factory reset, lol but if you can do that do it

also im pretty sure as this is a newer mac that it isn't a admin issue it's an Apple refuses to let macs use any other OS than macOS issue

also, i don't recommend this often, but maybe talking to apple support would be somewhat beneficial

edit i found this guide hat may help you:

@timtom777 appreciated your help.

I'm not sure I'm brave enough to do it. I'll call Apple services and ask for their help.

Thank you again.
