hard drive upgrade 30gb to 120 or 160gb

Is thare any chance that I can use 120 or 160gb hard drive in my ipod video 5th ed. 30gb version.

the disk have the sam thickness an shold fit in.

but I read some story on your site that it has being som problem to start it up.

It can work,but make sure you get a hdd cable that is compatible with your drive. Of course you need a zif drive etc. Do you have a drive in mind?

I would like to do the same thing. On another website I read that this would involve a number of different parts to upgrade to fit. Are you sure it is just the drive andcable?

Here is my answer to a very similar question "The 5th gen Classic drive is interchangeable but beware that the 30GB use a slim drive. So what you need to look out for is the thickness of the drive. There are 160GB ZIF drives that will fit but the bigger the drive the more you are going to pay. I'd get a 80GB for your iPod which is reasonably priced and readily available.
