Dead backlight after replacing key

I replace my wife's C key on her 2017 Macbook Pro, because it was hanging by only one of the retention clips. After replacing all the components of the key, the backlight no longer works. Can this be corrected or has it been permanently damaged?

Answer this question I have this problem too
