have replaced the heating element. it’s giving the same error code (HE

I have a Samsung Electric dryer (DV42H5200) and have replaced the heating element. Dried a load of clothes just fine after replacement.

Now a week later (laundry day) it’s giving the same error code (HE). Well, that was until I attempted to temporarily bypass the thermistor. Now it’s giving the code for the thermistor (TE) and immediately shuts off after running a few seconds.

Is there a way to bypass this thing other than making a loop from one pin to another?

I ohm tested the thermistor and it came out to 6.5k and went down as I put my finger on it. I understand it should be around 10k.

Is this what my problem really is?

Hi @itsbrokeagain

According to p.35 of the service manual the thermistor should test 10K Ohms @ 25°C/77°F.

It also details the resistance of the 3 thermostats as well.

Hopefully this is of some help.
