Do the new MacBook Pro’s USB-C ports, support USB-C 2x2 (20Gb)?

No. It only supports 10GBps USB 3.2 Gen2 (including earlier USB specifications), 40GBps USB4 and 40GBps Thunderbolt 3/4, it does not support 20GBps USB 3.2 Gen2x2.

Thunderbolt 4 is the USB 3.2 spec!

If incorporates Thunderbolt 3 performance features one is the dual lane link netting 20 gigabytes per second per link or bi-directionally 40 gigabytes per second.

You do need to make sure both devices and the cable connecting them is TB4 spec’ed to get the full performance.
