Washer will not drain

I took pump and hose assembly off and cleaned out but it still code says won't drain. Would it be stopped up someplace else? And how do you take it apart?

There are several reasons why a washer may not drain properly. Here are some possible causes:

  1. Clogged drain hose: Check to see if the drain hose is clogged. If it is, try to remove any debris or buildup that may be blocking it.
  2. Faulty pump: The pump is responsible for draining the water from the washer. If it is not working properly, the washer will not drain. You can check the pump for any obstructions or damage, and if necessary, replace it.
  3. Faulty lid switch: The lid switch is a safety mechanism that prevents the washer from spinning if the lid is open. If the switch is faulty, the washer may not drain. You can test the switch with a multimeter and replace it if necessary.
  4. Clogged drain filter: Some washers have a filter that can become clogged with lint and other debris. You can remove the filter and clean it to see if this solves the problem.
  5. Drainage problem: The problem may not be with the washer itself, but with the drainage system. Check to make sure that the drain pipe is not clogged or blocked, and that the plumbing is working properly.

If none of these solutions work, you may want to consider calling a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

I unplugged the washer, took off the hot & cold water hoses, flipped it on its back, and took off all drain hoses, and pump, but to my surprise, everything was open and the pump was not that dirty. I cleaned out everything anyway pump was working fine. I was expecting to find clumps of dog hair because my grandson lives with us and has a very large dog that sheds a lot. The two commodes sinks in bathrooms, shower, kitchen all drain fine. But after I put it back together and got it going, it did the same thing with the first load, I managed to finally get it to drain, but than after that it started working fine. It's been a few days now and it still is working good. It's one for the books I will tell you.
