DS charging light goes out

I got a untested original DS in the hopes of fixing it, I ordered a new battery as it didnt come with one, when I plug in the DS the charging light goes out after a second, when spamming the power button when plugging it in the charging LED stays on as long as im constantly pressing the button, DS also does not turn on.

it sounds like the ds is failing its "self check" you should check wiring and the lcd for any issues and post pictures of any damage you find
