How can I download the Hp recovery tool from a windows 7 hp

So my hp pavilion with windows 10 is not starting up the OS. I think its a boot problem or a corrupted windows os. I am trying to download the Hp Recovery Tool to a usb so i can hopefully fix the issue. how ever the laptop i am currently using is windows 7 and there is no microsoft store so i am unable to download the tool. How or where can i download the tool? or should i just get a whole new ssd.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I had a lady with a similar issue come into the shop. I removed the bios battery and replaced it after a couple of minutes. Pressed power and it started up straight away.

Hi @erickhdez1226

Assuming that it is not a HDD problem (is the HDD shown detected in BIOS?), you can download the Win 10 installation media to a bootable USB and then when installing, (make USB as first boot option in the laptop) when you get to the setup screen, click on repair this computer link.

It should take you to the Windows Recovery Menus.

Once there select Troubleshooting > Advanced > Startup repair

Alternatively, if you have access to any known working Win 10 PC you can create a recovery USB. In the host PC go to Control Panel > Recovery > Create a recovery drive and follow the prompts. You will need an 8GB USB flashdrive and about 40-60 minutes of time (depends on specs of host PC).

Once you have the USB recovery drive, insert it into the laptop, change the laptop's boot order to USB first boot option and boot from the USB to get to the Windows Recovery Menus.

Once there select Troubleshooting > Advanced > Startup repair

So just confirming that it doesn't detect the USB even though it is 1st boot option is this correct?

Can't find info online regarding the BIOS settings but check if there is a USB enable/disable setting either in the Security or Advanced menus.

With some laptops you can disable USB on startup to prevent booting from a USB as a security measure.
