Hi

Are you sure it’s too far gone?

If you would like I can show you step by step how to reassemble so you can get your data back:-)

Hi Geir Ove Anderson, I followed info regarding part assembly with new charging port and the screen came back to life enough for me to retrieve my photos to my laptop so disaster avoided, thanks for info.

@tilney2021, Well, you need the logic board (obviously), a screen, a charge port assembly and a battery. You don’t need the housing, but it is easier for a first timer as if you don’t use the housing (or at the very least the power flex), you’ll have to ground a pin on the power flex connector (some times).

I do simple data recovery this way, but bake sure you don’t create any shorts and that your work surface is ESD friendly.

Just hook up the charge port assembly, the screen and lastly the battery. Then plug the lightning cable from a computer to the charge port. Usually that prompts it to boot, but sometimes you’ll need to short a pin to ground (in the case of the Intel iPhone 8, it’s pin 13 on J4300).
