Why does the bottom elements looks much less orange than the top ones?

Just recently toast is only toasting on the top side. The bottom elements are on but much less intense than the upper elements. What could be the cause of this do I need to replace the bottom elements?

That did change the appearance of the heating elements. The two lower elements look blotchy as compared to the bright solid orange color of the upper ones.

halkamm The uneven light of the heating element is either caused by it being a bad heating element, or by the Control board PWM which may have failed. These are not your daddy's toaster. This a quartz element heater. Time for you to take it apart and let's take a look at it. Use something like this video to take it apart. Then take plenty of pictures and post those with your QUESTION. That way we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question - iFixit Repair Guide
