Upper screen ribbon has a small gap. Can it be bridged with solder?

Hi,

While inspecting the 3DS with a broken image on upper display (discolored, image appears zoomed in 2x so only left side is visible), I noticed that when I pulled out the ribbon out of the socket that one of the pads is separated. Just under the 15th pad, the line splits and there's a visible gap. I could attempt to solder to it, but I'm unsure if it's possible. Is there a temperature these ribbons can survive that's suitable for soldering, or is it not possible?

I checked with the multimeter and the pad and line are not connected.

I don't remember trying to solder on one. I would find a piece of bare flex and heat it to determine the consequences.

Due to size, it will be difficult and you don't want solder on the lower portion of that contact.

Good idea. I'll try to touch the empty area of another water damaged 3DS to see what would happen.

Maybe I could isolate that gap with carefully positioned pieces of kapton tape?
