ERROR 30 when I press the shutter

I get error 30 when I press the shutter, The message instructs to turn power off and on again or replace battery. After doing both there is no change, still error 30 however it does record the shot as I can review and see it on screen. So after every shot I take I have to turn it off. However if I shoot video there is no error what so ever.

Answer this question I have this problem too

jackfuller Err 30: Shutter malfunction. Just like anything else with these cameras, try another lens to see if it still gives you the same error. If so it could be mechanical error with the shutter or it could be with any of the flex cable etc. This manual Eos 5d starting on page 127 will help you with the disassembly and allows you to take a closer look at the connectors/cables etc.

For a replacement shutter assembly, use this EOS 5D Mark III Parts Catalog
