erased my Mac took to Staples

I erased my macbook air and dropped off at Staples for recycle. A week later I received a email message from “Find My” . My Macbook Air was found at a location 13 miles from my home . This location is nowhere near Staples. Should I be concerned unit was not completely erased?

sign into icloud at icloud.com you should be able to erase the device and remove it from your icloud account
