iPhone SE 2020 Will a new screen fix a black screen?

So I’m thinking of buying a broke IPhone SE 2020 from an eBay seller he is very highly rated. He says the iPhone just has a black screen I have a iPhone screen laying around so im wondering if replacing the screen would fix this?

Here’s what he said about the iPhone

The LCD DOES NOT DISPLAY but the phone DOES POWER ON. You can feel it respond. This phone has not been worked on or repaired by us.

Here’s everything he said.

This device has a clean ESN, IMEI:356476109286148, and no account locks. The battery health is at 84% which gives a battery warning in the settings. The LCD DOES NOT DISPLAY but the phone DOES POWER ON. You can feel it respond. This phone has not been worked on or repaired by us. This listing is for the phone only and does not come with any box, charger, or accessories. Please take a moment to review the photos and ask any questions before purchase. Thank you! It’s the IPhone SE 2020 the seller is on eBay and very trust worthy,

Kai B it might. Yes, the phone will vibrate if the display is not responding. So that sounds accurate. Make sure you are not running into any iCloud locks. You may not see it until you got the display working :-) Just like anything else in life, you get what you pay for. If the price is right and you feel okay with it, do it. Would I? Probably not. To many issues with iCloud, locks etc. and the statement "This phone has not been worked on or repaired by us" does not mention if it has been opened before or worked on before by anybody else. Buyer beware.

If the display is not working, I'm personally curious how the seller got the battery percentage information and knew there was a battery warning in the settings. I suppose you might be able to find out the percentage by hooking it up to a computer, but most times that requires some screen interaction that would be difficult at best without a visible display.

Of course, the selling price is going to be a big factor in deciding whether to take a risk on this phone or not.

Personally I wouldn’t touch it. As mentioned, iCloud etc.

As @oldturkey03 @dadibrokeit and @strongbow has already said; I probably wouldn’t go near it! I did a quick check, and the seller appears to be truthful, the IMEI registers OK, and it doesn’t have Find My Phone activated, which means you can wipe it and restore a new install. Still though, I’d probably pass, unless getting a basement bargain.

It’s 50$ Idk know if that’s a good deal or not

Kai B, $50 US, CAD? Bit of a difference there. Still $50 is OK, which I would pay if it was a local seller and I could pick it up and had contact info on the seller, but I wouldn’t pay $50 to an eBay seller for a SE2020
