What is the connector type for the BIOS battery

My BIOS battery is dead. The outer package of the battery reads "KTS 3a CR1220W 3.0V", and the actual cell inside the package is a CR1220. I'd like to replace this battery. I can get the cell easily enough, but the cell is spot welded to two wires which are connected to a white plastic connector. I need to find out what connector that is.

Hi @dsank

Are you talking about getting a CR1220 battery with solder tabs (supplier example only).

If so, simply cut of the wires from the existing battery as close as possible to the battery and then connect them to the new battery. That way you have the connector connected to the new battery. Ensure that you get the polarity correct, red is +ve.

Do not attempt to solder wires onto a battery that has no solder tabs as you will have to apply too much heat which could damage the battery and also could be very dangerous to you to.

If the original connector is faulty for some reason, get a replacement battery i.e. search online for KTS 3a CR1220W 3.0V as trying to find the connector even though they are fairly common, may prove difficult as it could depend on knowing the specifications of the connector e.g wire pitch, distance between pins etc to ensure that you get the exact one.
