adhesive recommendation for re-assembly

i'm looking for an adhesive recommendation to re-assemble a repaired Gotcha Evolve. when i (very carefully) took it apart there was a bead of glue around the inner case perimeter (reminded me a lot of hot glue-gun glue). it was very tacky but very flexible. adhesion was good as it took a while to pry it off the base side.
i'd like to find something that
A) does a good job of holding the top and bottom together

B) would still enable the separation of top and bottom (using the same technique of a thin blade or spudger to pry them apart without breaking them, in case i need to do further repairs

C) keep it's form when dispensed, unlike liquid glue that would just flow everywhere (self-leveling i think is the correct term). if i put a seam of it down, i want it to hold that shape until i press the two pieces together.

any thoughts?

Answer this question I have this problem too

T7000 or T8000, use it all the time on phones, tablets and watches etc.

how is the viscosity? does it free flow (self-leveling)? or does it hold it's shape once out of the dispenser?

@beekerc it will level but not run. Stays where you put it. Good stuff. Think you can buy a 10ml tube if you don't need much.

@strongbow

will look into it. E6000 definitely levels and runs.

@beekerc T7000 is clear and T8000 is black. Also look at B7000 which is thicker.

will do. thanks

Hi @beekerc

Try using Tesa 61395 Tape.

It works well on phones, so perhaps it is also suitable for your device.

@jayeff

I've heard about Tesa Tape, but have not tried it as i too have been using the "red tape" which is good for holding things in place, but not really great for a "holding things together" application. i may give this a shot, i just hope it's thick enough. the bead/seam that was present after i had separated the top an bottom halves was a bead/seam of adhesive like had come out of a hot glue gun, if i had to guess at least 3/4 to 1mm i diameter.

Tesa tape or red tape may not be thick enough, although i could double stack. just don't know if the tesa tape adhesion will be strong enough.

but i'll look into it.

thanks

@beekerc

I've used it on a few phone display replacements I've done (for family, I'm not a professional) and there have been no comebacks yet ;-)
