Vertical lines on Samsung LCD screen

Hi,

I have a Samsung LCD TV (UE50NU7455). When I turn on the TV it works normally. However after a while (aprox. 15 minutes), vertical lines appear on the screen. First a few on the right side of the screen, but in a few minutes it progresses to the rest of the screen (see photo).

I already performed the following actions:

  • reset to factory settings
  • update firmware
  • removed all connecting devices
  • removed back panel and cleaned all connections and connectors (see photo)

  • I even bought and installed a new (secondhand) motherboard. However, same problem. After 25 minutes vertical lines came back.

Question to the community. Any other suggestions on how to repair this?

Thanks in advance!

@oldturkey03 Thanks for your reply.

I removed the bezel from the tv and teared it down a bit further.

Attached a few more pictures from the LCD driver boards.

@pieter___ third image top TAB. Is it loose or is it just the light? Any difference to your pictures if you apply some gentle pressure onto the ribbon cable?

@pieter___ my concerns on this are the black spaces. Those mean that your panel does not get a signal on those areas. Follow the 2 flat ribbon cables from your main board. Do those plug into some "long skinny boards? Those would be the LCD driver boards. It would really help if you could get a little closer to those. I know it is going a pain since you may have to remove the bezel from the TV and tear it down further. Take a couple more pictures of that area and let us see what is going on there.

I had a similar issue on a sharp TV. Problem is the t-con board. Not the main board. If the TV is come up alright and go to menus and working all HDMI/USB ports, there is nothing wrong with the main board. If the issue with screen flashing or lines like this, mainly its down do how picture is render on your screen and t-con board is the responsible party. Change the board and it should be fine.

@dilankascit this model does not have a dedicated T-con board. It is integrated with the main board.
