Is the 3rd Gen lcd replacement screen compatable with the 2nd gen?

I accidentally bought a 3rd gen lcd screen replacement for my 2nd gen iPod touch. Before i open the 3rd gen and try to fit it des anyone know if it will fit or not(just so i can get a refund if its unopend). Please answer soon.

The 8 GB 3rd Gen is identical to the 8 GB 2nd Gen. But the 16 or 32 GB use a different LCD, unfortunately.
