Launch PS5 will not boot up

  1. I press the power button and get a beep, but nothing else.
  2. I press the power button a second time, and the blue light comes on for a second, and then turns off. Back to Step 1.

I’ve disconnected the power for 20 minutes and tried again.

I’ve tried holding the button down during both steps to try to enter safe mode.

What do you think? Power supply? Fried RAM?

I was just playing Battlefield, got a sweet kill, and then it hard crashed.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Personally, I’d be inclined to try and replace the power supply as it sounds as though it’s not drawing enough power to boot up. I’ve seen this with PS4’s but not worked on many 5’s.

Have you tried using a different power lead?

Thanks for the quick reply, just tried a different cable, same result.

Also, disconnected every other cable before trying.

Ok, I believe your first point of call would be to replace the power supply.

@Frankie Vaughan aw man, just found this. It’s my -exact- issue. This guy really seems to know his stuff (other than how long 2 seconds is, lol)

Seems like a random blown capacitor in this case.

Bit of a tough repair for me…

Sony wants $212 for it.

@distrbnce that’s rough… take it to a local shop and see what theyd charge. Most PC repair shops should be able to help
