@glammy1959 that will depend on what space heater you have and what it looks like. Post some good pictures of it and see if we can figure out how to open it. One concern I do have is why does the cord need to be replaced. I believe that most models now have the GFI right on the plug and those have safety screws that are almost impossible to remove. Again, we need to see more of your heater and the current cord etc.
Once we figure out how to open the heater, replacing the cord is usually fairly simple.
