Alcatel 1B - No Internet Connection

I have an Alcatel 1B 2022. The issue I have is that of no internet connection, despite having mobile data turned on. It works with WiFi but not mobile data on it's own.

I have used my SIM in another phone and it works, there is enough credit also. I have also checked the carrier and APN and all is correct.

Does anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

Some things to do to try and resolve the problem:

  • Try turning airplane mode on for a minute and then turning it off again and check if you can now access mobile data.
  • Start the phone in safe mode and check. If it works in safe mode a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one is the culprit. You will have to uninstall each downloaded app, one by one and then test the phone in normal mode between each uninstall until it works OK. When it does the last downloaded app uninstalled was the cause of the problem. A downloaded app is one that you downloaded and installed and didn't come pre-installed with the phone.

Thanks for replying so quickly, I will try this and respond if it works. How can I can access safe mode on an Alcatel 1B? I tried tapping the power button and then holding the power button but safe mode doesn't come up.

holding the power button on screen I should add.

I found a link for the 2022 model (I edited link in answer above) but it shows the same. If the phone is on press the Power button to turn off and then press and hold the Power off icon on the screen until the Reboot to safe mode option appears.

This is the usual way most Android phones get into safe mode.

Howe are you trying to go online, browser app, email app etc? If a browser app try another app that will go online (YouTube?) and check if that works. It may be the app that you're trying to use to go online with and not the phone.

Thanks again. Even though the link you give is for my phone, when I hold down the power off symbol on the screen it just vanishes instead of giving the option of safe mode.

I have tried all apps and browsers and it's definitely no internet connection the issue. Again, mobile data is on, I can make calls and send texts as well as use the wifi.

@ Kyle

So turning airplane mode on and off did nothing either?

The only other things that I can think of is to wipe the cache and check if this fixes it

OR

do a factory reset

IMPORTANT!!

A factory reset will erase all your data and downloaded apps it will restore the phone to its factory default condition. BACKUP the phone FIRST to the cloud or a PC using the phone's backup feature.

Also if the phone has a Google account connected to it, remember what the user ID and the password is for the account as you will need to enter this information to gain access to the phone after the reset is done. The is due to the FRP (factory reset protection) lock being enabled by the reset.

If you decide to do this then make sure that the battery is fully charged and then perform the reset.

Once it has been reset, check if you can go online OK.

If you can't then there is either a hardware problem or a firmware problem and the phone may have to be reflashed with the firmware again to know.

If you can get online then restore the phone to what is was before by using the backup you made earlier using the phone's restore feature (in Settings). After it has been restored, check if you can still go online OK. If so then the reset has resolved the problem.
