One side of the head size adjustment mechanism detached

The right side of the adjustable headstrap mechanism is detached near the eye relief knob. The plastic part that slides in and out to accommodate for head sizes is freely sliding and will not completely close when fully tightened on the right side.

Is there any way to repair this without having to get a replacement head strap altogether?
