Hi,

Do the brake lights come on when you select reverse gear without applying the brake pedal?

Try this with the engine off.

If so check for a short circuit between the green/black wire going to the reversing lights and the green/white wire going to the brake lights in either taillight assembly.

The wires may be pinched together somewhere in the harness
