Won’t turn on after putting battery in backwards

Hi, I was trying to fix my DSi when I accidentally put the battery in backwards/opposite. Now even with it in correctly, it no longer turns on. When I try to charge it, the orange light just blinks. Does anybody know how I can fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hey mate. You just need to replace some fuses on power pcb. Or just make some jumps. Soldering is required.

Hi @caydennguyen

Most probably the console didn't have reverse polarity protection so you've likely damaged some components on the motherboard.

Here's an image taken from the ifixit Nintendo DSi Motherboard Replacement guide, that shows where the battery connector attaches to the board.

You may have to start checking the components around there.

You'll need the schematics to help identify a component if it is faulty or not, but unfortunately I can't find any online.

Hi, I bought a used DSi power board on Ebay and replaced the old one. Now it’s working again, thanks.
