Replace some black film under the logic board? (MacBook Retuna 2016)

Hello! I'm replacing the battery on my 2016 Retina Macbook.

Accidentally, some of the black film on the bottom chassi, underneath the logicboard, got removed (some was accidentally scraped off, some got removed because I spilled solvent when removing the battery adhesive).

Is the purpose of this film just to isolate the logic board from the metal of the bottom chassi? If so - can I fix my problem by covering the lost spots of black film with kapton tape?

I highlighted the area I'm talking about in the picture attached. Thanks in advance!

I would use black vinyl tape, the reason has to do with heat. Black surfaces absorb heat, so hear we are leveraging the bottom cover as a heat sink pulling some of the heat away.
