What would be causing me to only see an unilluminated image on my d

Hi I have an ux533fd. I purchased it with left hinge seperation from screen. screen worked upon recipt. Recently I cant see desktop image in display unless i shine a light on the screen, then its all there, also is there on 2nd display. Machine has been factory reset as well. So my question is, what would cause your display not to be backlit but still show hi res image?

A Bee failed backlight strips would be might first suspect. Since you were dealing with a bad hinge, it is possible that this is a wiring issue. Of course, you cannot rule out problems with the backlight driver or even a blown backlight fuse. WE would need to know the exact motherboard number for your laptop so that we could try to get you more information about the fuse, the connector etc. ******

@A Bee it's one of those depends. We'll have to see what you got going on there. It is possible that it does or it may be part of the rest of the wiring. It should become obvious/visible if you remove the bottom cover of your laptop and we can see what all of that looks like. ill find the board number and post. i didnt know the backlight had a driver. does the backlight have seperate wiring from the lcd?
