Replacing the X933422-006 Flex cable on the Surface Pro 4

While replacing the motherboard on a Surface Pro 4, I noticed that the X933422-006 flex cable had developed a crack. The metal conductor appears to be intact. I've ordered replacements that should arrive in 4-5 days.

Looking at the same part on a spare Surface case, I'm trying to understand if there are any critical connections needed for its proper function. (It looks like it's just adhered to the plastic strip that acts as the top lip of the case, part: X946709-003 A.)
