iPod 5th gen with iPod Classic motherboard?

are 5th gen components compatible with a classic mother board? Because my 5th gen mb was damaged and I want to replace it with a classic mother board.

some are and some are not, depends on which components you are referring to. The HDD for example is...but you will need a different cable.

Ok it seems the touch wheel works but the main component in question is the video display will that work? Also I assume the hold switch will work so the hdd will require a different cable? i have a zif ssd that I am using do you still think i will need a different cable?

The display is different and slightly offset, this will cause your connection to not be properly seated.

Options

The display will not work. The ribbon cable is slightly offset and the display is slightly different due to the housing being different. As for your drive, it should work.
