CLP-510 Printer "Wasting Data" and no printout

I have a Samsung CLP-510 printer. I can ask it to print a demo page, and it comes out fine.

Sending a file from the computer gets a "Wasting Data" message, the On Line light blinks and no page is printed. The printer is certainly getting the data, However no printing.

Any hints, or is this big printer now a brick?

I have had the "waste toner tank full" message before. This seems different.

I send a job to the printer. It wakes up from "Sleeping..." and goes through the wakeup stretch, energizing the drum and paper path. Then the message changes to "Wasting Data" and the printer completes is wakeup / warmup cycle. No print cycle results.

!!!!! Got a HINT of where to look for problem !!!!

I have a network Print Sharing box between my computer and the printer. Has been working fine for over a year.

Plugged the printer in via USB direct to my desktop -- and it PRINTS.

Then moved the cable back to the Printer Sharing box, and we are back to "Wasting Data" again.

Problem is in / with the printer sharing box. I will reset / change settings replace the box -- whatever needed to not send this printer to the dump!

Hooray!
