My home button is broken, any alternative to isopropyl alcohol?

My iPhone home button broke and I wanted to clean it. Assistive touch is very annoying. Want to clean it because other people have success cleaning it. I’m scared to open it because it might break. Any alternative to isopropyl alcohol because I dont have it.

And also temporary fixes are welcome

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi

A good alternative to isopropyl alcohol is hand sanitiser as it has alcohol in it

If you use hand sanitiser make sure to clean the area with some deionised water afterwards because hand sanitiser has things that are good for our hands and things that are not so good for electronics so the deionised water will help take the bad bits away

As for the home button itself , I think that if it’s physically damaged you shouldn’t take it out of the screen assembly but if it’s fine I recommend taking it out of the assembly(unless you want to replace it)

Here’s the guide you will need for that

iPhone 6s Plus Home Button Assembly Replacement

Absolutely no pressure though,if you aren’t comfortable doing it only do what you think is right

If all the cleaning doesn’t work and you’ve tried reseating it,it could need replacing but you will loose Touch ID in the process unfortunately

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)

I don’t have deionized water so is it fine if I don’t clean the area afterwards?

@qwerty2

You could probably get away with it

Make sure to clean it until it evaporates though:-)
