Why my phone died after a battery swap

So i had a battery from ifixit lying around for a few weeks and but it back in my phone.

At first it did work, but suddenly it died at 50% or so and, i try to charge it. But after like an hour the phone still displays the battery is charging symbol. (That battery was almost new, but according to the manufacturing date it was manufactured 2020).

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

So ther isn't a short on the battery, and the battery conncector isn't shorted too.

i checkt the voltage and it was 3,4 Volts , so my guess would be the battery is discharge to far and the phone regrets to charge it because its in a to low voltage stage to be charged.

@Benjo the threshold for refusing a charge is usually around 2.6 to 2.9 volt. Your battery voltage at 3.4 volt is definitely not the reason for it not to charge.

Hi Benjo,

If your troubleshooting doesn't solve your problem, please reach out to our Customer Service team and support@ifixit.com. A few weeks shouldn't make a difference as long as it was stored properly.
