Troubleshoot options for if I need a new battery

I replaced the battery about last year and I'm now having issues where it will not charge past around 20% (Somehow I've gotten it to get to maybe 27% but nothing any higher) and it sometimes charges a bit more when I constantly plug and unplug the adapter. Do I need to buy a new battery and replace it? or are there some more things I can try testing?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@boydivision it is possible that you have gotten a bad battery since it should definitely last longer than a year. I would go ahead and replace it once more. Maybe getting it from a place with some warranty etc. may help too. Then with the new battery see what it charges up too. There is always a small possibility that this is caused by the power management of your Razer Blade which would require some board repair. Schematics and board views are not always easy to come by. So let's hope it's just a bad battery. Replace and re-evaluate.

I replaced the battery and the charging still doesn't go up unfortunately... Do you think it's possible it's the charging cord/adapter? and would you know of any cheaper alternatives to the official razer one? Thank you in advance!

@boydivision yes it could very well be the adapter or the port. Use a multimeter and try to measure the output of the adapter. I will see if I can find any schematics etc. to see if there is anything we can check on the motherboard. Razer, just like any of the other manufacturers, build their computers to check the power supply to make sure it is original. I suggest you stick with their supply. Just to make sure, your computer is a Razer Blade Stealth 12.5 (2016), which would make it a RZ09-01682

Okay thank you. I do not have a multimeter unfortunately, I'm not really a tech person or anything, I'm just some guy. Ermmm do you think it's worth getting a multimeter anyway despite that? I've never really heard of people just having one laying around. I can't really afford to get a new adapter at the moment too so do you think in the future just investing into a newer computer would be better in the long run? Thank you again so much for your patience!

@boydivision I am just some ordinary guy too. Get a cheap meter. Those are always handy and you can use them for many things. You don't need expensive stuff to get things fixed and checked.
