Repair information for printers made by Canon.

It's printing but enough ink. Can black pull from color cartridge?

I have the Cannon 5200 series. We were completely out of ink. Only bought the little black one, #226. Cleaned heads etc. Held down STOP for 10 seconds to bypass 'Out of Ink'.

It's printing but not enough ink.

Will it not pull from the little black one? Does the big black ink container #225, need replacing instead?

Thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

So just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, the printer has two black cartridges in it now?

If you print in mostly black, your black cartridge will naturally run out faster than the color cartridges. However, some printers will pull a bit of ink from the color cartridges when you are printing solely in black, just to keep them primed for future use.
