Is it easier to replace the back glass, or the entire back housing?

The back glass on my iPhone 12 is broken, and it needs to be repaired so I can trade it in. I don’t have a laser machine. Would it be easier to replace the back glass, or the entire back housing? I think that replacing the back housing might be easier, because I won’t have to destroy the back of my phone more.

Thanks in advance :)

getting the glass changed by someone with a laser maybe a cheaper option than buying a housing, you would probably need an original housing for a trade in and they would probably be the more expensive option

@isaacnaylor do you mean what power is the laser diode ?

by

like i don’t know anything about lasers

i know someone w/ a laser engraver, but i think that an engraver and marker are different. like isn’t there a certain wattage or something?

@isaacnaylor most lasers for back glass are between 6-8w, i dont use 1 personally i use a hot air station to do back glass replacement. i will add a photo to an answer to show you an iphone x i did
